The story of Casa Calmar began with the discovery of Samoqueira Beach, its serene coastline and the picturesque village of Porto Covo. Reconstructed from an old rural ruin, this eco-friendly accommodation offers a cozy escape for all seasons. Three independent houses—Cabana, Casa do Alpendre and Casa do Pátio—each with their own heated pool and private garden, create the perfect setting for relaxation.

Casa Calmar pays homage to local traditions with its classic design, featuring barrel-tile roofs, wood accents and spacious interiors that open onto lush meadows and fields. The homes embrace the simplicity and charm of rural Alentejo, decorated with Portuguese ceramics, basketry and functional, cozy spaces. The design is guided by sustainable practices, with energy-efficient heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and the reuse of materials from the original house, including centuries-old straw roof tiles and stone thresholds.

Houses at Casa Calmar have open-plan living areas, large terraces and en-suite bedrooms. The Cabana, with its bathtub by the window offering stunning views of the meadows and sea is a perfect choice for couples. The Porch House and Patio House, with their expansive terraces and upper decks, are ideal for families or groups, offering space and beautiful vistas over the Atlantic. All houses are equipped with air conditioning, fireplaces and fully furnished kitchens, making your stay convenient year-round.

Situated just a few minutes from Samoqueira Beach and Porto Covo village, Casa Calmar is the perfect base to explore the stunning Alentejo Coast.
