THE ISLAND PARADISE SÃO TOMÉ
The island of São Tomé forms the province of São Tomé with surrounding smaller islands and together with the island of Príncipe the island state of São Tomé and Príncipe.
The landing approach to the island is already overwhelming: the lush green of the magnificent forests meets a brilliant blue of the crystal clear sea. Landed on the island, guests are warmly and very welcomed by the locals. The island state of São Tomé and Príncipe is home to about 200,000 Portuguese-speaking inhabitants and is so far rather unknown as a tourist destination. This can be seen in the nature, because it is untouched and breathtaking.
Beaches with white sand, big palms and crystal clear water meet tropical forests with waterfalls and mountains in the interior. There are numerous small trails that invite you to explore the rainforest and see nature in all its splendour.
A real insider tip is the paradisiacal beach Praia Jale. If you are lucky, you will be all alone and have the opportunity to observe some turtles, which are there in abundance.
In the capital São Tomé there is a market where you can find many delicacies. The cuisine is dominated by African and Portuguese influences. Fresh fish in combination with fried Bananas and rice is one of the main foods. There is a variety of restaurants serving fresh food and juices.
